What’s Free this week?

Normally I don’t run all over town getting freebies anymore. But my husband has this canned food/non perishables thing going on at work, and he asked me to get him “lots of stuff” since he’s the leader for the drive in his department.

So, with Little Buddy off to school, it’s just me & Baby Buddy, so away we go………

First stop will be Dollar General. The Gillette Body Wash is $2 and there are $4/2s in the 5/2 inserts. Hopefully they’ll have plenty.

Next, we’ll go to Acme. Yesterday’s inserts had two $1/1s for Crest, and Crest is $1 at Acme.

After that, I’m headed back to Target. First, I need to do one more SC Johnson thing for the $5 rebate, so I’m going to get the bathroom scrubbing bubbles stuff, it’s a $1 mm for each item to start, so I’ll make $3. Then another $5 for the rebate. Sure, if you want to pay me $8 for three things of bathroom cleanser, I’ll take it. **ETA** Even better! There’s a coupon in yesterday’s paper for a $5 Target GC wyb 4 scrubbing bubbles products!

Then I’m hoping that they’ll have restocked the Aveeno body washes. They’re $1.25 each and I have $2/2 coupons, making them $0.25 each. Throw in a nice $10 rebate and it’s a really good deal.  Hoping that they have 20 of them, which is what I’d need. I’ll pay $5 for them and get $10 back in the rebate, plus have more to add to the donation pile.

I have more Viva coupons, so hoping that the 2-roll pack is still 1.48, making that a $0.40 mm per pack.

And then lastly we’ll stop at Superfresh on the way home for the free mayo. I have 6 of those coupons from yesterday’s paper, so I can get six giant jars of mayo for free. Donate four, probably keep two. There’s also free Luigi’s water ice to be had, so I’ll grab 4 of those since I have 4 coupons for it. Actually, those will be 0.09 each, so not exactly free.

I’ve checked the CVS and Walgreen’s ads and nothing jumps out at me. I already did my freebies at Walmart for this month. Pics coming soon.

Happy couponing!

This week’s ads

I got my new batch of supermarket ads in the mail yesterday. Today while the boys were napping I had a chance to look them over–

Acme–Going to be skipping Acme this week, not much there. The only good deal that would be worth stopping for is the Gold Peak Tea. It’s 3 for $5, or 1.67 each. But it’s already a part of the 5/5 dairy promo, so when you buy 5, you’ll get $5 back. So a container of the Tea for $0.67. I really like this tea and normally would do it, except that I have about 4 cases of free snapple in my basement and my fridge is stuffed with free yogurt-no room for the tea. I’ll sit this one out.

Giant-the new Giant ad doesn’t start until Sunday, so over the weekend I’ll be looking at it closer since there are some gas deals. You have until Saturday to do the Hersheypark deal. I’ve looked at what is on sale and what coupons I have, and I can’t get lower than about $35 oop for $60 worth of stuff. After sending in the $20 rebate, it would be $15 for $60 worth of stuff, plus the savings of about $150 at Hersheypark….still mulling it over. I’m doing the savings challenge and only have $100 to work with, so $35 is a lot right now, especially since technically I don’t need any of it.

I will post more deals at Giant after I have more time to put some together.

Superfresh–the place to be this week! They are offering three catalina deals–Unilever, Georgia Pacific and GM. As far as I know, they all will be working off of shelf prices and I have lots of corresponding coupons. I plan on checking it out tomorrow and will post what I find.

Giant-Hersheypark deal

Giant and Kraft/Nabisco have teamed up again for another year of the Hershey park deal. It’s on the last 2 inside pages of the Giant ad for this week. Basically, spend $60 on Kraft/Nabisco, get a free HP ticket or a discount on a pack of four tix. Spend $60?!? Ha! Not me!

There are lots of coupons from yesterday’s paper, as well as tearpads and peelies found all over the place, for Kraft/Nabisco products. Check out your other local grocers for those coupons, check CVS & Walgreen’s & Target too……….you’ll find them.

I’m confident that with even minimal effort, I can get $60 worth of product for $20, and earn my free tickets plus get stuff my family will eat.

Good luck & happy couponing!

adding new stores to my repetoire

With the addition of Baby #2 to the household, I really cut back on the deals I was doing. Actually it was pretty much just Acme, I even retired my CVS card for a while. I haven’t even set foot in a Walgreen’s in months!

But now I have more time and frugality and making money is my focus, so I think this will be my store list for a while:
Groceries-definitely Acme, will be checking Giant for gas deals since we now have pumps in Kennett; going to keep my eye on Shoprite and Pathmark for “must do” deals
HBA-back on board at CVS; going to either add Walgreen’s or Rite Aid, lately it’s looking as if Rite Aid has more money makers
Other-going to keep my eye on Kmart and see if it’s worth it, they now have a rewards program

Are there any other stores you would like me to check out and report on?
