Box Tops for Education-news & updates

As I’m working on blog redesign, one of the elements in progress is the Box Tops for Education Resource Page. For new readers, I am the Box Tops coordinator at my son’s school, so I often post deals and offers related to BTFE. It was a very popular page on my blog when I was Lisa’s Bargain Alert and unfortunately it didn’t make the migration over here. But it will return, I promise! Last week I went to the Philadelphia Box Tops University, where we learned about some program updates.

Boise Paper-this is now a BTFE product. If you work in an office that orders paper by the case, consider ordering Boise so that you can earn more BTFEs for your school.

Other new products-Now the ENTIRE baking aisle of Betty Crocker will have BTFEs on them. ALL the brownie mixes, all the cake mixes, everything! Same with Toaster Strudel and Scramblers, now ALL will have them, not just some varieties. More Avery items will be carrying Box Tops. More Green Giant items. And a new product coming from Land O Lakes that I am very much anticipating-cinnamon sugar butter! Yum! Look for this new product soon and it will have BTFEs on it.

Earn an easy $0.50 for your school: If you are not already registered online at the Box Tops website, go there and do it now! When you register, your school earns an easy five Box Tops, just for you registering and picking a school. (If you don’t have a school to register with, please choose: First Step of Chester Cty in zip code 19382. We’re a very small school that could use the help!) It was also suggested that you get out a couple of laptops for Back to School or Meet the Teacher nights, so that parents can register right then & there. Great idea!

Hanes T-shirts: This is a great offer! If you have to order any t-shirts in bulk, listen up. Any order qualifies–so it can be a corporation, family reunion, sports team, school-anything. If you need to do a bulk order of tees, get Hanes. Then, all you have to do is submit your receipt to Hanes, and they will send you a Bonus Box Tops certificate, one per shirt. This is a great way, like if you or your spouse’s company does a work picnic and orders shirts, you can earn the BTFEs! More info on the Box Tops website.

Stay tuned for more great ideas and easy ways to earn money for your school.

No coupons? No problem! week of May 9

Sorry I’m a little late with this one this week. My pick of the week is still going to be Giant! I went there this morning and had mixed success.

First, the Hallmark catalina offer is still working. Buy any three cards and get $5 back. The $0.99 cards work and I’ve purchased dozens. But, I did have one transaction this morning not work for me, so choose carefully and be prepared to return them or eat the cost if it doesn’t work. At the Kennett Square store they do have $0.99 Father’s Day cards. I also read online that in Altoona, PA, the store has been instructed to NOT restock any of the $0.99 cards until this deal is over. Pfft! So while this is a great deal, it’s turning into a YMMV (your mileage may vary) deal very quickly.

The Scott deal is also still running through this week. But any three Scott items from different categories, and get $3 back. The three categories are toilet paper, paper towels and wet wipes. The paper towels are $1 and the small TP roll is $0.87, so you can just pay $1.87+ tax and get $2 back. And that $2 will roll onto a second deal, just make sure you have something to eat up the overage. I’ve been using the $0.50 coupon on the wipes, which are $1.89. Once that coupon doubles, I’m paying $0.87 + $0.89 +$1.00 and getting $3 back. Love free TP!

But if you don’t have any coupons, still lots of small freebies to be had at Giant. I am completely stocked in greeting cards now, for the next few years!

Who is up for a Giant challenge? $25/$100 P&G/Kellogg’s/Keebler

I’ve told you all over & over, that the secret to getting things for super cheap or free, is all about stacking deals. Coupons are just one element of the stacking–a very valuable element, mind you, but there’s so much more.

I got my ads today and this is in the Giant ad: April 25-May 14, spend $100 on the selected products, get a $25 Visa gift card. It does NOT say it has to all be in the same transaction, so who is up for the challenge? The challenge of course, is to spend $25 or less on their selected items, get $25 back. Giant has more rules than I care for-the $100 spending threshold will be on sale prices, and they only double one like coupon–if you have two of the same coupons and you want them both doubled-you have to do separate transactions, and they have no e-savings program or printables. And I have to assume that we can’t double dip on our receipts, or send them in for the Kellogg’s rebate. Think we can do it?

ETA: Ok, since this is all only P&G, Keebler & Kellogg’s- P&G insert was 4/3, Keebler was 3/13, 3/20 and 3/27, Kellogg’s last week, some CoverGirl last week. That’s not to mention the Kellogg’s printables link I put up a few days ago, plus all the home mailers from P&G. P&G very rarely does printables. Don’t forget to check coupons dot com.
