Here is an offer just for you, if you’re looking for a baby sign language class. Classes are held in Mt. Airy area. Melisa, from SigningWithASmile is a fantastic teacher. You have to mention that you heard it here, and this is the offer-
1) Attend the first class for free to see if you would like to attend the session
2) Use the code “I love ASL” and the site they got it from (SmartSpendingSpot) to get a free flashcard set when purchasing the accompanying DVD and CD ($10.99 value)
I love sign language. My 4-year-old is special needs and non-verbal, and I am so glad he is at least able to communicate with us via signs! And our now 2-year-old, he picked up on the signs at a very young age. He was never taught them, just picked it up from watching us with his brother. But oh how I wish we had taken a class, trying to figure out what the signs are from just pictures is hard. And then, my son modifies them, and every one of his teachers/therapists add their own twist–I bet it gets confusing for the little guy.
So many moms & teachers & day cares are using sign language now, definitely money well spent if you take this class. Pass this post around to anyone you think may benefit!
My long time followers know I love L.L.Bean and plug them all the time. When I go to my parents’ home (Lehigh Valley) I make every effort to visit the store. I miss it. For those of you that don’t know, I managed some L.L.Bean stores for a few years……….then they closed many of their mid-Atlantic locations. It’s not as good as my employee discount, but I still find great deals–usually through stacking clearance deals with discount codes, plus using Ebates.
I heard on NPR that they are permanently waiving shipping fees, not just for L.L.Bean Visa customers! How awesome is that! Now we can just focus on the discount codes, nevermind free shipping codes.
Additionally, they are now accepting PayPal for payment.
Share your L.L.Bean story on their website. Let me know if they send you any goodies if you submit one. I need to submit one on how much we love their unshrinkable tees, which I just found recently for $5.60 each!
They are not just a retailer, they offer outdoor experiences. Some as close as Marlton, NJ. They are affordable and in most cases, equipment is provided.
Here are some things you may want to check out this weekend.; both regionally and nationally. March Madness? Pfft. I hate watching basketball.
First, are you in spring cleaning mode? If you are, here are some things to consider as you are unloading your stuff. Call me at 610.444.8484, The Growing Tree in Kennett Square. We consign kids clothing 12m to size 8 and women’s things. We also are doing a prom dress consignment sale right now and are still buying and selling prom dresses.
The Bridge in Avondale is an outreach ministry that can use lots of things-contact them for the specifics on what you have to donate.
Books! The Avon Grove Lions will be gearing up for their warmer-weather Book Barn, which opens in April. Contact them about donating your books. If you have decent books or expensive textbooks, consider half.com. I’ve made some decent money on there.
Happy Spring Cleaning!
The Growing Tree summary: This week, we continued to receive more prom dresses from consignors. So if you were in a few weeks ago, c’mon back! We have new dresses. Also, I’m kind of surprised at the number of Baby Lulu and Lilly Pulitzer things we have in for girls. Really cute stuff! In our boys’ department, the racks of spring & summer stuff are continuing to fill up. Lots of shirts & shorts from Gap & Gymboree. Our women’s racks are full of lots of very nice casual wear. One of our favorite consignors has introduced me to Cabi and Caslon and I am loving it–so comfortable. We also have quite a number of Lilly Pulitzer pieces for women if you want to dream about summer. And we have a new jewelry consignor/crafter coming tomorrow. Stop in, 114 West State Street, Kennett Square. (disclaimer: I work there!)
