First, the bad news–Sorry I didn’t post this last week, I was busy and caught up in going to BlogHer and then another conference on Sunday, so I never got this weekly feature up.
Then, there was good news–loyal followers and bloggy friends dug up the previous week’s linkup and added to it, thus breathing new life into an old post.
And then, more bad news–this linkup continues to get hit by spammers and casinos, and other non-family-friendly sites. I delete and ban as soon as I see them, doing the best I can. But seriously people…….go away! This is for bloggers and other small businesses only (like Etsy sites, independent distributors like Avon and 31 and so on). Go away, you’re not wanted here and I will continue to delete and ban you.
More bad news–Bloggers, I love you, really I do. But don’t put your affiliate links in this link up, like the one for Coupons.com iPad giveaway. That’s not what this is for. This is for bloggers, that are working with brands and small businesses. Bloggers helping other bloggers, as well as giving our readers that enjoy giveaways more opportunities to win things. This is not for you to earn affiliate money off of my readers.
So….deep breath everyone…..and let’s have a great giveaway week, ok? Enter your giveaways, come back and check often, as new ones are added all weekend long. Have fun……..and let’s keep this fun and family friendly!
Good Luck and let us know if you win!

SUMMER SUN SAFETY TIPS from MinuteClinic
What does SPF mean?
- SPF = Sun Protection Factor, which is a measure of how well sunscreen protects against UVB rays
- It also predicts, in some cases, how long it may take your skin to get sunburn when you are wearing that sunscreen
Under the new FDA sun care guidelines, look for sunscreen products that are:
- Labeled “Broad Spectrum,” which prevents against both UVA and UVB rays (these are the only products that can reduce the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging)
- SPF of at least 15, preferably 30 or 50
- Re-apply every 1.5-2 hours!
- (Note: products will no longer be labeled as “sunblock”, “waterproof” or “sweatproof” since suncreens eventually always wear off)
What’s the difference b/t UVA & UVB rays?
- UVA rays are more responsible for the skin’s aging
- UVB rays are the rays that cause sunburn
When it comes to spending time in the sun, remember:
- Sun is strongest between 10 a.m. & 2 p.m., so limit your outside time during those hours
- Some makeup products or prescription medications can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so be sure to read labels and take caution
- If you do get burned and feel as though you need medical care, visit your local MinuteClinic for a thorough assessment and treatment. To find a location nearest you, visit www.minuteclinic.com/locations
(Note that sunburn patients with a fever greater than 99.9 degrees, with blistering of greater than 5 cm, and those who are immunocompromised or have diabetes may be referred to another care setting.)
Have you seen this offer yet? Print these high value Glade coupons. It’s already been reported that these items will be free after coupons at Walmart and Target. If you aren’t close to one of those stores, try Kmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar and others. I’m already thinking about possible teacher gifts for the holidays, with these.
