We just love love love Leap stuff in our house– we so have many Leap products. We have two Leapsters, 1 Leap Pad, all three of the Fridge Phonics, we have the talking interactive Scout and many other toys that teach the alphabet or colors. And B just got a new pad thing for Christmas–he can trace over the letters with a magnetic pen to practice writing. We must have 10-15 Leap items in this house, I guess you could say we like them! So when Leap approached me and asked me to do this review and giveaway, of course I said yes.
We only had 1 DVD before we got these two to watch. We had Letter Factory and my boys like it. I like that it’s wholesome innocent kid stuff which can be hard to find these days. And these two DVDs are the high quality you come to expect from Leap. And now you have the chance to win 2 DVDs from Leap–I will be picking two winners and each one will win one of their newest releases.
If I had to pick a favorite out of the two as far as story and likability, it would be this one. I liked the way they presented the opposite words as well as other subtle lessons about being in a museum. This was my favorite, but was not my sons’ favorite. Here is a clip from that DVD:
The other DVD recently released is called “Adventures in Shapeville Park.”
Adventures in Shapeville Park was their favorite, but I think it may have to do with my 3 year old’s abilities. He already knows many shapes and colors, so he enjoys the success of knowing the answers to what is presented in the DVD. The songs in this one were more to their liking too. And you know what got me–
If you don’t follow my other blog, you may not be aware that I have a child with special needs and I work as a Special Education Advocate. So of course when I see a dog with special needs, adaptive equipment and an accessible playground, it makes my heart swoon. Ok, maybe that one is my favorite! Too hard to choose
Like many Leap products, this is targeted to the preschool or kindergarten set. They are affordable at about $15 each, and that’s retail price. I’m sure you can find them on sale. I like that their DVDs are enough time for me to take a shower or do a work task, but they are not planted in front of the TV for the length of a 2-hour movie. Quite often when the Leap DVD is over, they will go find one of their Leap toys and play with it. I even found my son with special needs seems to have a greater recognition of his interactive Scout and he is playing with it more than he used to.
I highly recommend these DVDs, my boys are asking to watch them again and again!
Now, here is your chance to win. Good Luck and have fun!
