It’s 99-cent diaper day! Yippee!

In case you missed this post, here is the link. Today is one of the double dip days at Walgreen’s, where you can double dip on the coupons in both the July and the August monthly booklets. I also posted some of the good weekly deals at Walgreen’s this week. Remember that double-dipping on the monthly coupons is a ymmv, not all stores will allow it. I’m going to try the store on Penn Green road first, since it’s close. I have to go down to my vet’s office anyway, and that journey will take me past 2 Happy Harry’s stores in Hockessin, so I will try those if the first store doesn’t allow it. For $0.99 for a pack of diapers–I have to go by “if at first you don’t succeed, try try again!”

If you want to try to plan your trip at home first, you can print the coupons from the monthly booklet from the Walgreen’s website. It is recommended that you at least print the August ones at home, as these booklets may not be out in the stores yet. Here is the link to the August booklet and here is the link to the July booklet.

Here is a list of other items that have a coupon in both booklets:

Walgreen’s-week of July 20, school supplies

Walgreen’s is having some really good sales on school supplies this week. Grab a weekly circular at the front of the store and clip those coupons. Several items for a nickel, good price on dry erase markers & sharpies, and several other things. Posterboard for a dime! For $3-$5, you should be able to walk out of there with plenty of stuff.

Dawn is $0.99, so if you still have the coupon from the beginning of the month, yours will be $0.79.

Reynolds foil is on sale for $0.89. Depending on which coupon you got in your paper, it should come to $0.14 or free. I have the $1.50 off 2 coupon, so mine will be $0.14 a roll.

Edge and Skintimate shaving gels are on sale for $1.99. Combine that deal with mfr coupons that were out recently and the coupon from the monthly booklet, and you’ll pay $0.99 or free.

And of course, don’t forget the diaper deal on Friday & Saturday.

Diaper Deal not to be missed at Walgreen’s

If you know someone who uses diapers, this is a deal not to be missed. Every once in a while, the stars and the planets align for a fantastic deal.

First the basics about Walgreen’s (or wags, as it’s known by most couponers, because ‘wags’ is their stock initials). RR= Register Rewards. RRs are certificates you get off of your next purchase at wags. And each month, wags puts out a monthly coupon & rebate booklet called the ESR booklet, for Easy Saver Rebate. These are tall, skinny booklets usually found at the front of the store or by the pharmacy.

Every month, the deals in the ESR booklet overlap the last Friday & Saturday of the month. This month it’s July 25 & 26. The dates on the coupons overlap, but not necessarily every deal will overlap. Also, not every store will allow you to double dip, but many will–so good luck. Here’s how the deal works–

Walgreen’s brand diapers are on sale for $5.99 a pack. In the July ESR booklet, on page 17, there is a coupon, bottom of page, that says Save $5 on two packs of Walgreen’s diapers. The way these coupons are programmed into the register, you do NOT have to buy in increments of 2, it will take $2.50 off of one. Now, in the August ESR booklet, there is that SAME coupon! Yippee!

What makes it even better. The week of July 20-26, Walgreen’s has a deal, purchase 3 packs of Walgreen’s brand diaper, earn $5 in RR. So your transactions should look like this:
5.99 diapers
5.99 diapers
5.99 diapers
17.97 total
-7.50 for July ESR booklet (3 x 2.50)
-7.50 for Aug ESR booklet (3 x 2.50)
$2.97 final total (plus tax)

And……the register should spit out $5 in RR to be used on your next purchase. So for $3 or so, you’re getting 3 packs of diapers and a $5 certificate to spend at Walgreen’s!

A few tips:
I’ve read on other boards that these diapers run small. A size 3 in these diapers would be the equivalent to about a 2 1/2 in other diapers. They also are not great for overnights.

In order to earn the RR, your transactions must be done in increments of 3 and only 3. If you buy 6 at one time, you will NOT earn $10 in RR, you still will only earn $5.

RR do not “roll” the way ECBs do at CVS. If you buy more diapers with the RR you’ve earned from a previous transaction, your RR will not print.

I personally, would not go in and only buy 3 packs of diapers and that’s it. The super-low total may be a red flag to the cashier, even though this is a practice that is allowed by the company, it is up to each individual store manager as to whether or not they want to participate. I try to fly under the radar, so I probably will be adding some cheap school supplies on to each order–they also have great nickel deals next week.

Also, your wags may not put out both monthly booklets at the same time. The July booklets are out now, so go and get a few and cut out the July coupon. If you go to your store on the 25th or 26th, they may not have put out the August booklets yet. These are your choices–ask for one, or, print the August ESR coupons out ahead of time. They have not been posted online yet, but here is the link where you will be able to find it, once it is posted.
