This Wednesday only, Walgreen’s is offering one free roll of film developing. The coupon can be found in the weekly circular at the front of the store. The film developing is one roll per person, so if you have more than one, bring your spouse or kids. While you’re waiting for the one-hour film developing, take a look at the other coupons in the flyer for school supplies. Very cheap! Lots of decent items for $0.09 and $0.19. Happy shopping.
No more Wal-Mart deals for a while….Walgreen’s is better anyway.
For a long time I didn’t shop at Walmart due to the way it was reported that they treat their employees. Then I let my guard down and gradually started shopping there again. But it looks like it’s time for another boycott, even if I do only spend pennies on the dollar there. I like Obama. That’s who I plan to vote for. At this point, I don’t know of anything that would make me vote Republican.
And I read this article on Yahoo: “Wal-Mart Reportedly Urges Managers to Lobby Against Obama”
So while I hate for a bargain blog to get political, this is why you won’t be seeing any more Wal-Mart deals posted here for a while. At least not until after Obama wins, then I can go there and give them a big “nyah nyah.”
There is life without Wal-Mart. Walgreen’s has been showing much better prices on school supplies this summer. And Rubinstein’s will soon be kicking off their back-to-school sales, and wouldn’t you rather support the little local guy? We get all of our health and beauty items free at CVS, paying with ECBs, anyway. I won’t miss Wal-Mart.
One more reason to shop at Walgreen’s, if you need it–their philosophy on hiring disabled people. And check out this article from MSNBC.
$5 off $20 at Walgreen’s, tomorrow only
Here is the link to the coupon.
Note that this coupon states that your total must still be $20 AFTER all coupons. Bummer. Those marketing folks are getting smart, because it used to be that we could use that coupon first, then use some mfr coupons to get your total next to $0.
But there is still a bit of money to made, if you think you’re going to start shopping at Walgreen’s frequently. Get the monthly booklet at the front of the store and turn to page 38. There you will find the tally sheet for the monthly rebates. Notice that the first few items are free after rebate. Find some items you like or can use, and purchase $20 worth of those items. Then, hang on to your receipt and send in the rebate request. Instead of requesting a check, request a gift card–they will increase your amount by 10%.
So your transaction will look like this:
$20 worth of Free after Rebate items
-$5 coupon
Pay $15 + tax
Request rebate in form of gift card, and you’ll receive
$20 + 10%, or $22 in a gift card.
After you receive your $22 gift card, you can begin ‘rolling’ it into RR deals and other rebate deals.
Clean up at Walgreen’s with Olay!
First, to do these deals, you need to have the Proctor & Gamble coupons that came out July 4 weekend, they expire 7/31. Or, there is supposed to be another P&G insert this weekend, so if you bought the Saturday first edition of the paper, got the coupons, you could still do this deal on Saturday.
I had to go pick up Kevin and wanted to stop in at Walgreen’s to spend some of my RR. What I don’t like about RR is that they have a 2-week expiration date, so I have about 10 days left.
My plan was this:
Olay Ribbons body wash is 3 for $10. If you spend $20 on P&G select items, you get $7 RR back. Also, the coupons that I have are for $2 off one.
So, 6 bottles of Ribbons for $20.
Minus six $2 coupons=$12, final cost $8, earn $7 back in RR. Not bad, huh?
The RR will roll on this deal, because I earned them on the diapers. You cannot roll RR on the same deal; ie I cannot turn around and spend the $7 on Ribbons and earn more. Just as I cannot spend the original RR I have on more diapers and earn from that deal. Make sense?
But there was a bonus! When I got there, at the front on the clearance table, they had Olay botanicals wash clearanced to $1!!! And I had several coupons for it, varying in amounts-$1, $1.50 and $2. So I got it for free! Heck, even if you don’t have the coupons, $1 is a great price for this–it’s usually around $4.
There is some left, Penn Green Rd location. And I do not know if this is also clearanced at Kennett.
I ended up getting 9 bottles of the Botanicals for free. My second transaction was like this:
6 bottles of Ribbons-$20
2 Natural Instincts haircolor-$12
3 packs of sharpies-$1.99
Coupons-
6 x $2 for Ribbons-minus $12
bogo haircolor coupon (from yesterday’s paper)-minus $6
Total-$16.xx
paid with $15 in RR (from diaper deal), and $1 something in change
Got back $7 RR for Olay Ribbons, $2 for Haircolor
