CVS Beauty Club Reminder

I got a reminder email that all points for the CVS Beauty Club will reset as of 12/31/11. Remember, you earn $5 in Extra Care Bucks for every $50 you spend on beauty products. Check your receipts to see how close you are to the next $50 threshold, and if it’s worth it to spend a bit more. My CVS (Landenberg) already has a ton of stuff at 75% off–and clearance items will count towards your total.

My Walmart finds

Yesterday Heather did a post about going to Walmart for the after Christmas sales, and it inspired me. I took B and went this morning. I found all the gift sets, but passed. If you live near Kennett Square, look near the Olay and Fusion gift sets (marked down to $5) because I RAOK’d my $2 coupons and sprinkled them all down the aisle shelves. Even at $3, I just have so many razors and body wash, I can’t justify spending it. I have to stick to my “only if it’s free” list and start using up my stockpile.

The Christmas clearance, however, is a different story. The fleece throws vary in price from $2-$6, so I picked up over a dozen. They’ll be my teacher gifts, mailman gifts, garbage man gifts and so on, for next year. End cap of Glade candles-$2 each. Used the $1 off 2s that I have.

I also bought the little junky stuff that is now $0.50-$1 a pack, the party favor type stuff in Christmas motif. I’ll use that next year, again, and make up little bags for K’s classmates. I did that this year and it was a hit.

Our store still had a decent assortment, though I couldn’t even stomach the thought of looking at more toys!

December 26 sales

My kids are napping, my dad and stepmother have gone home (or on to their next house for celebrating) so I had a few minutes to relax and check email. I’m trying to plan my attack for tomorrow. This is traditionally one of my most favorite shopping days–I love it much more than Black Friday. I really miss the days when my SIL lived here, and every year we’d go to King of Prussia on 12/26 in the early am.  She’s in Denver now :( so that tradition ended.

Eddie Bauer is doing 50% off everything.

I’ve seen ads–both print and online, for all the big department stores and they all are offering deep discounts. Macy’s also has a printable shopping pass. Lord & Taylor is also offering gift cards to the first 300 customers at each store (opens at 8). Bloomingdales has always been a big score for me. And according to online reports (Yahoo) Target is beginning their big toy clearance tomorrow. Ugh! I really don’t like them starting it tomorrow instead of January. Much as I like to be able to score cheap stuff for birthday gifts, December 26 is just too soon for me! I am NOT ready to buy any toys tomorrow, even if they are 50-75% off.

Don’t forget the more offbeat places like Dollar General, Big Lots, Hallmark stores and places like that. If you need Christmas wrap and those cheap goodies, good places to check. The whole world will be at Target & Walmart, you may want to check out the smaller spots.

I think I’m going to head to Brinton Lake and hit Eddie Bauer, plus we still have our Eversave certificate for Ruby’s, so we can do a family lunch or dinner there.

Last minute gifts + other things you need!

Shop at Walmart online, then do in-store pick up. Good Luck!

I could really use this–but not in the mood to run out. Great price though! My other one crashed & collapsed just a few weeks ago, but it was 10+ years old and beat up. Mainstays 5 Piece Card Table and Chair Set, Black
