Teacher Appreciation Day at Big Lots-8/2

This Saturday, bring your teacher ID to Big Lots and get an additional 10% off your entire purchase.

This offer valid only on Saturday, August 2nd.

$5 off $20 at Walgreen’s, tomorrow only

Here is the link to the coupon.

Note that this coupon states that your total must still be $20 AFTER all coupons. Bummer. Those marketing folks are getting smart, because it used to be that we could use that coupon first, then use some mfr coupons to get your total next to $0.

But there is still a bit of money to made, if you think you’re going to start shopping at Walgreen’s frequently. Get the monthly booklet at the front of the store and turn to page 38. There you will find the tally sheet for the monthly rebates. Notice that the first few items are free after rebate. Find some items you like or can use, and purchase $20 worth of those items. Then, hang on to your receipt and send in the rebate request. Instead of requesting a check, request a gift card–they will increase your amount by 10%.

So your transaction will look like this:
$20 worth of Free after Rebate items
-$5 coupon
Pay $15 + tax
Request rebate in form of gift card, and you’ll receive
$20 + 10%, or $22 in a gift card.

After you receive your $22 gift card, you can begin ‘rolling’ it into RR deals and other rebate deals.

50 Free Prints at CVS

Go to this website. On the right hand side, see where it says “Create an account.” Click that and create a CVS photo account. You’ll get 30 free prints for doing that. Then, if you add your Extra Care card number to that account, you’ll get an additional 20 prints! Yay for free!

One more reason to get an Extra Care Card if you don’t already have one.

The coupon showed up in my e-mail box within minutes.

end of month wrap up

July is almost over! Can you believe it? This summer is going by much too quickly.

Since the month is ending in 2 days, that means 2 things–the CVS monthly deals will be ending, and any coupons that you have that expire 7/31 also will be ending. The last week of every month, I like to review the CVS monthly booklet one last time, as well as I go thru my coupon binder and pulll out all the coupons that are about to expire. I never throw them out though, until they have officially expired. Too many times, in my eagerness to be organized, I’ve tossed coupons thinking I won’t use them and then missed out on a freebie deal that required those coupons. Also, military moms overseas can use a coupon for 6 months past it’s expiration date and there are resources available for you to do random acts of kindness and send them to our military families. One place you want to check out is the Military section on hotcouponworld.

Quick overview of CVS July deals

The CVS brand pantiliners, 22 ct, are $0.99 with $0.99 back in ECBs, limit 2
The CVS brand tampons, 5 ct, and $1.49 with $1.49 back in ECBs, limit 2.
The Sure deodorant is buy 2, get $3 ECB. There was a bogo coupon out for this a few weeks ago, so you would buy 2 for $2.79, get $3 back. Limit 5.
The Essence of Beauty handsoaps are buy 3, get $5 back. They had some clearanced at both Landenberg and Jennersville for $2.50, so you’d spend $7.50, get $5 back.
The Glade items are giving $1 back and there were coupons out for them 2 weeks ago.
Some Pledge items are giving $1 back, there are bogo coupons out there for this and some it is clearanced and giving the ECBs back.

That’s all I really see for July, as far as freebies, moneymakers or almost break even. There are several dozen offers in the booklet, found at the front of the store.

Coupons expiring 7/31
All of the Proctor & Gamble coupons that came out earlier this month will expire. The values on these coupons vary from region to region. Here are some of the ones I got:
Satin Care: $1 off any, use for the $0.99 size found at most stores.
Charmin: $1 off any, use for the $0.99 travel packs found at Target & Walmart
Olay: Varying amounts from $1 to $3. Use for clearance items at Walgreen’s.
Crest: $1 off any, use at Walgreen’s this week to get some very cheap toothpaste, less than $0.50 after store coupon and mfr coupon.
Pampers: $1 off any, I won’t be using these, $1.50 ones were out this past weekend.

Other than these, I don’t see any others that I can use by month’s end. But that can change and I will post the deals as I find them.
