Ugh, still nothing………

I got my ads in the mail yesterday and have been checking the boards–still nothing to write about. I guess with the weather and being so pregnant, I shouldn’t complain. Down time is good and I don’t have to feel bad about missing a deal because I was too tired/fat/sore to go.

I plan on doing my weekly grocery trip tomorrow evening. If I see any decent deals I’ll post them, but there’s not much in the ad. Kellogg’s 50% off and coupons out, whoopee. We still have dozens of boxes of Crispix, Mini Wheats and GM stuff. Bogo chicken breasts.

CVS monthly deals are pretty lame. I’m getting worried as my ECBs all expire right around the 19th or so, I hope I have opportunities to roll them on something useful.

Slow, slow, slow

I had some free time last night, so I perused the various chat boards as well as my ads. Another very slow week. I don’t think I’ll be hitting CVS or Walgreen’s this week, will go to Acme for what I need only.

Rumors are flying that Kmart has discontinued the Superdoubles program and will no longer be doing it.

Monthly deals-Walgreen’s does have several decent “free after rebate” items. But I have all month to do it and I’m waiting for my gift card to reload. I’m pretty sure I have coupons for just about each item listed, so I should have a gain. Nothing about the CVS monthly deals excites me.

CVS Pepsi deal- a bit better

Here are some tips on making the CVS Pepsi deal a bit better, especially if you don’t drink soda. We don’t. First, remember if you do drink soda, use the $5 mfr Pepsi coupon from the back of the Acme ad. That way you’ll only spend $15, get $10 back.

Sobe-yesterday at the Landenberg store, the bottles of Sobe beverages each had $0.50 hangtags on them. These are 4 bottles for $5, or $1.25 a bottle like the Gatorade.

Stacy’s Pita Chips-these are a Pepsico product and included in the deal. Yesterday’s paper had a $1.50 off one bag (they’re $3/bag).

Between the pita chips coupon and the hang tags, you can get your $20 total significantly lower than the $20 requirement. Good luck and leave some for me!

Another slow week

I don’t see anything to get excited about this week.

CVS-I’ll do the Huggies deal. But it stinks. $5 back on a $20 purchase. I have $1.50 coupons to use, but still not great. They’re re-running the Pepsi deal if you need/want Pepsi. Gillette & Pantene is a good deal (back page) if you have the right coupons. Lots of talk on the boards about the Fusion razor but I’m not thrilled about it.

The CVS brand tissues are $0.50 a box, good deal and I like these tissues. Lots of decent make-up deals if you haven’t used up your make-up coupons yet.

Walgreen’s-Yuk, I see nothing. Nothing. Some bogo makeup deals like CVS if you still have Qs. Listerine an ok deal if you have coupons and are brand loyal to Listerine. (and are not overloaded with it from when CVS did it last month!)

There is a bogo Hershey’s candy coupon on back page of wags ad. May want to try it with the bogo Hershey’s coupon in today’s paper, possible free candy.

Acme-Eh. The Kraft/Coke deals are good if you like those products. We don’t eat Wheat Thins or Triscuits. Coupons in today’s paper. Didn’t have the frozen pizza when I went on Friday.

$1 coupons in today’s paper for Simply Orange juice, so $2. Not bad. Kellogg’s deal with free milk a good deal if you still have the $1 coupons that expire today and need cereal.

The Hatfield ham lunchmeat was on sale for $5.99/lb which I thought was good for around here.

Beware the Herr’s chips–they have the small bags on sale 3 for $5 and the big bags for 2 for $5. If you compare weights, bigger bags a much better deal.

I also found the 9-packs of Mott’s for Tots juices for $2.50. $1 off one coupons expire 1/31.

Beef tenderloin on sale buy you have to buy the whole thing.
