Pediasure

I like to keep Pediasure on hand at home for when the boys aren’t feeling well. We had a ‘hypoglycemic episode’ with Kevin when he was a baby, which landed him in the picu at duPont, ever since then I’m paranoid when they don’t eat normally. If they are sick, I still can pretty much always get them to drink a chocolate Pediasure.

In tomorrow’s paper there are coupons for Pediasure and a “try me free” rebate. In addition, there is a deal on it at Rite Aid too. If you have UPs to use, you could use it on that, send in the rebate and thus convert your UPs back to cash. I think that’s what I’m going to do with my toilet paper UPs.

What year was Acme Markets founded?

And more importantly, why should you care? Today at Acme they were celebrating their 120th anniversary. And over the loudspeaker the CS person said “We’re celebrating our 120th anniversary today, the first person that comes up here and tells me what year Acme was founded wins a $10 gift card.”

I had just entered the store and was in dairy, near the CS desk. Did the math on my cell phone, and won $10.

They did similar questions twice more while I was there, so if you go, be listening. And they had contests for kids and freebie snacks all over the place.

Check the Kraft/Nabisco display, there are coupon booklets attached. And check the Goldfish for peelies.

Only 42% savings on my weekly trip this week–I always aim for 50%. But still under my budget.

Clearance + Coupons-TCP & Kohl’s

One of my most favoritest deals ever was a trip I made to the Children’s Place several years ago. My oldest, now 4, was just an infant, and at home with dad. They had clearance deals on this fantastic fleecewear–pants and hoodies and zip hoodies, but all they had left was 3T and 4T. After clearance and the 10% or 15% coupon that I had, I paid less than a dollar for each item! I came home & of course my husband thought I was crazy and said “He can’t wear that stuff for years.” No, he couldn’t. But now he can and this is the third winter in a row he’s wearing that stuff, and now my second little guy is wearing some of it. I paid between $20-$30 for an entire winter wardrobe and I am still getting my money’s worth from it. I hope I can score as well this weekend, definitely going to go out and try.

Use this 15% off coupon to add to whatever bargains you find there. Thanks PCS!

Kohl’s is also offering a 15% off shopping pass, should be able to combine that with some clearance for extra savings.

smaller package sizes-Yoplait

I’ve blogged before about how annoying it is that manufacturers are shrinking package sizes and hoping we don’t notice. Yesterday I stopped in at Acme to get one more set of Nutri Grain bars (found some coupons!) and noticed this sign on their window-“Yoplait, 4.6 oz-$x.xx” I don’t remember what price they had listed.

Yogurt cups used to be 8 oz. Then they shrunk down to 6oz. Now, 4.6 oz! And the regular shelf price is anywhere from $0.75-$1.05. That’s ridiculous.
