new Arm & Hammer printables

Remember I said how you should get a separate email account just for signing up for stuff? Can you tell I’m cleaning out that inbox today? Because it’s a new month, lots of new offers showed up in that box.

Including a new list of printables from Arm & Hammer, will make the detergent at Superfresh $2 instead of $2.50, starting on Friday.

When I hear shoppers say “Oh well, I don’t like the way that detergent smells…” I think to myself “Get the unscented!” And use fabric softener, which is very cheap at Kmart this week anyway!

Ha ha…Kmart, take that!

I vented a little bit this morning about some other blogs that I’m finding annoying because they’re advocating coupon fraud. One of my commenters, Amy, said she prefers the challenge of trying to do it by the rules. Me too! Couldn’t agree more! I mean, if you’re just going to try talking a cashier into accepting a coupon that isn’t for the product you’re purchasing, where’s the deal? Why not just try to talk them into accepting Monopoly money?

The best deals are those that are honest, although they may not be the easiest to come by. Let’s flash back…it was just two years ago, that Kmart had superdoubles and it was unlimited. Look at this post from 2009, and this one  and this one from 2008, with photos. Then they cut it to 75 coupons per customer, then 50, then 25. Now it’s 5! Five! And only 4 of those can be the same coupon. And now they require a $25 purchase to accompany it. Still I was up for a challenge this week.

Here are the deals I wanted to stack:
$5 off $50 I got for registering my email (link in yesterday’s post)
$10 back wyb $35 worth of P&G products (I may have incorrectly reported this yesterday as 10/25)
$5 back wyb $20 worth of All/Snuggle
$5 back wyb 4 of the Hershey’s drops (these are yummy by the way!)
Superdoubles! Limit 5

Ok, had all those deals in my head, and evaluated my coupons. I scored several of the $8 off ANY Iams dog food coupons, and they are a P&G product. Time to use some of those. This is what I did:

$28-two bags of Iams Dog Food, minus $16 for two $8 coupons
$9-Pampers, minus $4, had $2 coupon from yesterday’s paper, doubled
$10-4 bags of the Hershey’s things, minus $4, had two $2 off 2 coupons which doubled
$6.58-two Snuggles, minus $4, one $2 off 2 coupon, doubled
$17.37-3 Alls, minus $4 in coupons, only one of my $1/1s doubled, the other two, just face value
$5 off $50 coupon

Delaware-no sales tax!

Paid $31.26, got $20 back. $10 for P&G, $5 for Hershey’s, $5 for All/Snuggle.

It’s a much better deal if you do all Snuggle (3.29/bottle) and no All.  But remember, great deal vs great price. Only a great deal if you really need it, and I needed the All more than the Snuggle.

Eight bottles of Snuggle=26.32, if you have four of the $2/2s, they’ll double, so minus $16. Pay 10.32, get $5 back.

Personally, if you want to make it better (darnit, now why didn’t I think of this while in the store!) I would do the Hershey’s deal by itself first-4 bags=$10. Minus $4 in coupons (no $25 threshold=no doubles) but then you pay $6, get $5 back. The Hershey’s catalina is the only one you can roll this week. The others you can’t use until next week. But if you did this first, then use that $5 catalina to purchase your Snuggle, pay $5.32, get $5 back.

Now I have $20 in Kmart cash that I have to use next week, but that’s no big deal since they sell all kinds of groceries now, including milk. That makes my final oop 11.26 for all that stuff, I’ll take it!

Oh the irony!

There are lots of money-saving and coupon and deal blogs out there. I don’t know if one is particularly better than the next, it all really depends on what stores and items you like, and whether or not they mesh with the author.

Last week, several of them were doing posts on coupon fraud. I don’t know what prompted this sudden surge of posting about it; I don’t know of a particular incident that happened.

One thing is for sure–all the deals you find here will be legit. If stores tighten down their policies, I’ll find ways to work around it. Like I said in my Kmart post this week, I enjoy a challenge. If you’re going to use coupons fraudulently to get a deal, well, where is the wisdom in that?

So I find it incredibly ironic, that some of the blogs that posted about coupon fraud this week are now posting about the Neuragen deal at Walgreen’s. What is the Neuragen deal, you ask? Well, don’t worry about it. Because there is no huge moneymaking deal on Neuragen, unless you’re using the coupon against the wording on it. And that’s just not cool, imo. I keep reading on these other blogs, comments from users who are saying “It kept beeping but the cashier pushed it through!” Duh, why do you think it was beeping? Because you’re using it on a product not intended. Walgreen’s may not get reimbursed for it. And at the end of the day, it hurts all of us.

Don’t do it.

Kmart: Superdoubles & at least 3 catalinas

Kmart has really tightened the reins on their superdoubles, oh when they were unlimited, those were the days! I know, lots of shoppers, especially the supercouponers, shy away from Kmart now because superdoubles can be such a hassle. Not me, I enjoy a challenge! You can sign up for a $5 off $50 here. Make sure you scrutinize all of your higher value coupons-those over $1 and see what you can find.

Catalinas: $10 back wyb $25 worth of P&G; $5 back wyb four bags of select Hershey’s products; $5 back wyb $20 worth of All, Snuggle & Clorox. I am definitely going to try to stack all three deals to $50, use the $5/50 and see how well I can do. This is assuming Pampers are included, otherwise, won’t be doing it.

But you can still find some good deals, especially if you combine the superdoubles with what is on sale. First a few reminders of the rules:

Limit 5 coupons per customer per day. After 5, they will not double, but you can still use coupons.
Limit 4 like-coupons per customer per day.
Minimum $25 purchase required, if you’re doing the superdoubles. Looks like they are definitely prohibiting us from walking out with oodles of free stuff, huh? Going to make us spend money.

Ok, here are some options. Thanks to bexx09 on hcw for typing up some of the ad, I’ll add some matchups.

Here is another deal, thanks to ruddysgirl:
I was at Kmart yesterday and got a Cat that says this. Get $5.00 off on your next shopping order when you buy $20 worth of Clorox, ALL and Snuggle. I looked at the price of Snuggle. Regular Snuggle at my store was $3.22 a bottle and this week the other Snuggle @ $5.99 per bottle are on sale 2/8. If the regular Snuggle is still priced at $3.22 a bottle it might be a good time to use the $2.00 off 2 bottles. I have not done doubles in a while and do not remember if they would double $2 off 2. If they do I would do this.

$3.22 x 8 = 25.76 – 16 (4 $2 off 2 doubled) = $9.76 – 5 cat = $4.76 for 8 bottles of Snuggle Fabric Softner. That is about 60 cents a bottle. For me that is a Great Price.

Great idea-thanks! Add four bags of the Hershey’s listed above to do even better!
