What else can we cut in half?

One item that I’m pretty brand/product loyal to is Olay Cleansing Cloths. I really, really like them and thankfully last year I found an awesome deal at Kmart, so I’m set for the next year or so with them. But another thing I do to make them last longer is that when I open a new package, I cut each one in half before putting them in my bathroom. This automatically doubles my supply!

Recently I was talking with some other couponers, and one said that she cuts dryer sheets in half for the same reason. I had one of those “D’oh!” moments and now I do that too.

When I give my kids juice, I also cut that by more than half. Usually it’s about 1/3 juice and 2/3 water per cup. This is more for sugar/calories and training their young palates to not get used to sweets, but there is a secondary cost-cutting benefit.

Whenever I find deals on Bounty, I try to find the select-a-size rolls. Those are the ones with the smaller perforated sheets and I definitely find that those rolls last longer in the kitchen because the sheet you’re taking is smaller.

What else can we cut in half to save money?

Kmart-catalina deal that runs until April 11

I saw this catalina deal posted some place, but didn’t get around to looking into it. Then, another super couponer Amanda posted that if you just purchase the Purex crystals as part of this deal, they are only $0.75 each. That reminded me to pursue this further and look into some matchups.

First, here’s the catalina offer-$10 off your next order (oyno) when you buy (wyb) $30.00 or $5 OYNO wyb $20.00. And below I have the products that are included in the deal. What’s good about Kmart catalina deals is that when they offer one, it’s usually every size and variety of that item. Not just a specific size or item like all the other stores do. For instance, when they do Procter & Gamble catalina deals, it usually includes every single P&G item in the store, which is nice. The downside is that unlike the grocers around here, it will work on sale prices, not shelf. And it appears that this catalina will work instantly and you can go back in & roll it on something else. Lately I’ve been getting the ones that require another trip the following week. At almost $4 a gallon for gas, I’m not up for that anymore.

In any event, here we go, let’s take a look:

If you have eight Purex coupons-$32, minus $16 from eight $2 coupons, Pay $16, get $10 back. $6 for eight bottles of the Purex Crystals.

Depending on the price of the Right Guard, if you have enough bogo coupons, that could be a good deal. Mix it up with Purex, Right Guard and the Soft Scrub bogo printables, probably get some pretty cheap stuff! I have to run down to Hockessin some day this week anyway for dog food, so I may go check this out. Will report back if I find any must-do deals or freebies!

Kmart deals; all this for $1.97! Includes printable links for SCJohnson deal

I had $15 to spend at Kmart that expires this Saturday.

There is an SC Johnson catalina, get $5 when you spend $15, and after looking at the selection of items I decided that I really could use some of them. My stockpile is overflowing with cleaning products, but I never seem to get enough Windex and that was included. Plus, I had the $1.50 off two Glade coupons and I like the oil burning thingies, and with three dogs can never have enough candles.

Most of the cleaning products are priced 2 for $5. I’d love to give you a rundown of what everything cost, but Baby B shredded my sales flyer. My catalinas were a $5 one and a $10 one, and each one stated that only “one per transaction” so I had to break it up.

First:
two Windex
four Glade things
Paid with $10 catalina and coupons, plus $0.50 cash
Got $5 back

Second:
three boxes of Capri Sun-$6
paid with $5 catalina and $1

The $5 Glade/SC Johnson catalina was a regular cat–not the ones that Kmart often gives, where you can’t use it right away but have to come back the next week. So I figured rather than have to come back next week, just use it.

Three sippy cups at $1.99 each
Paid with $5 cat and $0.97 cash.

Yay for Delaware for no sales tax!

To recap:
Two Windex
Four Glade candles
Three boxes of Capri Sun
Three sippy cups
All for $1.97 out of pocket! Go me!

And I still have another catalina good for $4 off a $40 grocery purchase, good thru April so I’m going to hang on to it in case other deals come along, which they probably will.

Print some SCJohnson coupons.

Here are some links to SCJohnson printable coupons. Will have to register on the site.

any Sunday must do deals? March 13

No, but there are some deals I want to get to this week. Today is my little guy’s second birthday so it will be a family day, no need to run around doing coupon deals. Plus, with the time change, we all ended up sleeping a bit later than usual.

But, I have some CVS extra bucks that expire this week and there are some deals I want to get to.

CVS-There’s a $10 back when you spend $25 on baby products and Pampers are included. Will do that with the CVS brand wipes I think. I’m pretty sure I have enough ECBs to cover it, but it will take me a while to build them back up again.

Also, several weeks (months?) ago, there was a link on Facebook to get a coupon for free Herbal Essences. When it came in the mail, it was a coupon for a free product plus $1 off another one. See deal on back page of flyer–if you have those coupons, two bottles for free!

There’s also another Crest deal, using the recent $1 coupons, two more free Crest products. (back page of flyer)

I may also do the Irish Spring, since it’s so cheap. And maybe the P&G deal on the front page, but I don’t think I have enough ECBs to make it anywhere close to free. I could use some batteries, my bin is running low.

Walgreen’s-

Cheap Gatorade! That’s the cheapest I’ve ever seen it I think.

$.29 Easter candy, front cover–there were $1 off 2 coupons out for this stuff around Valentine’s day, will look for current printables, for some possible free candy.

Starbucks-good price, if you have the$1.50 printable I posted a few weeks ago

Dial Nutriskin will be free after RR and coupons, if you still have the $2 coupons.

And I have to get to Kmart this week because I have $19 in catalinas from there, will post that later, after I look at ad.
