Great CVS trip: Excedrin, Cover Girl & more!

I love surprises! For my Wednesday morning trip, I chose to stop in at CVS. Stuck my CVS card under the magic card scanner, and out came–the $3 off $10 cosmetic purchase (advertised in sales flyer), $1.50 off any Cover Girl, and $2 off ANY Excedrin.

Guess what–the Excedrin is on sale this week for $1.99. And, check your coupon binders, I had $1 and $2.50 coupons off any Excedrin 20ct or higher. And it’s the 20ct that is on sale for $1.99. The cashier adjusted my $2.50 coupon down to $1.99, so combined with the store coupon, I got $2 in overage for that purchase.

The Cover Girl is on sale this week, buy a mascara item, get eyeshadow free. I used the $1 off any CG coupons from the last P&G inserts. It’s a bogo sale, and I was able to use a $1 coupon on each item. So a mascara and an eyeshadow cost me $5 (paid for with ECBs) and it goes towards my next cosmetics $50 threshold. I chose the CG Lash Blast mascara in the purple tube. I did a bzzcampaign for them a while back and really liked it.

Speaking of…..when I scanned my card, I also got another $5 Extra Bucks for reaching another $50 in cosmetics purchases. Which means that according to CVS, I have spent over $100 so far in cosmetics, but my total year to date spending on my receipt says $28.11. The Beauty Club is calculating our totals on whatever price it scans at, and not taking into consideration any coupons or Extra Bucks, which is awesome!

I also chose to do the Garnier deal because I need an SPF moisturizer. The deal is spend $20, get $10 back, I spent $14.xx on the moisturizer and $6.xx on a cleanser, used a $2 coupon on each (not sure what inserts they were in) so after ECBs, I only had to burn about $6 in ECBs to get the stuff which was worth it.

I’d rather spend Extra Care Bucks on items instead of real bucks! Down side is now I am down to just $4 in ECBs, because I rolled mine into the Huggies deal, because you all know that for me, this is all about the free diapers. So I  need to keep my eyes open for more opportunities to build my ECBs back up.

Look what I got for $0.60. Yes, 60 cents!

My husband doesn’t like to play this game anymore-the “guess how much I paid” game. The novelty has worn off for him. When I come home & ask him that, he always gives me a ridiculous answer.  Here’s my haul:

$9.00- three Coke 12-packs at $3 each
$6.00-three Ritz crackers at $2 each
$4.47-three Xtra detergents at $1.49 each
$3.99-one Crest rinse
$4.35-three Revlon nail polish, 1.45 each (clearance)
$3.69-Revlon mineral powder foundation (clearance)

$2-take $2 off any Revlon face product, mfr coupon from Sunday inserts
$6-take $1 off any Revlon lip/eye/nail product, mfr coupons (6) from Sunday inserts

$15 in Extra Bucks-$10 from the Pepsi deal last week, $5 from Beauty purchases

You can’t even get one can of soda for that price!
That’s right, saved $92.19 today.

Got back: $5 extra bucks for Coke/Nabisco purchases, $3.99 for Crest purchase, appx $13 towards my next $50 beauty purchase threshold

If I go out Sunday morning (Jan 30), my must-do deals are………..

Here are some of my picks of the hot deals at the drug stores, starting Sunday. In some CVS stores, they start Saturday night, but try at your own risk. I have had success at the Jennersville CVS doing the deals on a Saturday night and they overlap. Then again, if an ECB doesn’t print on a Saturday night, you have no recourse with the cashier/mgr because the promo doesn’t technically start until Sunday.

Walgreen’s:

**Check and see if they have the new monthly coupon booklet out, they might.**

Blink eye drops are 7.99 with 7.99 back in RR. Use the $1 coupon from 1/2.
Arnicare is 5.99, 5.99 back in RR. Only coupons spotted were inside package or a blinkie.
Natrol Melatonin is $3 with $3 back in RR $2 coupons in 10/10 papers, if you still have those inserts kickin around!
*Remember, the Walgreen’s rules as far as rolling & getting your RR.*

Nature Made-bogo and I still have my $5 IPs, plus there’s a rebate (do a blog search, I blogged about it before)

Use coupons dot com printing bar at top of blog, get the Butterfinger IP, they’ll be free at Walgreen’s with it.

Select Scott paper products are $5, then grab the $1 store coupon in booklet at front of store. Look for my earlier blog post (from today) where I listed a link to a $2 IP. $2 is a great price for those products, if the coupons are compatible. There’s also a $2 off 2 printable here.

Almay and Cover Girl are buy 1 get 1 50% off, $1 coupons in last week’s paper. Remember you can use a coupon on each item, and clearance will be included.

There are other decent deals at Walgreen’s next week if you need other items. I just think the above deals are the ones that product selection will be sketchy as week goes on.

CVS

Still doing Coke/Kraft deal, spend 15 get 5. Use coupons from Safeway booklet.

Nature Made is bogo.

There’s a spend $25 on P&G, get free Charmin 9 roll pkg. If you would happen to get some decent coupons from the in-store coupon scanner, might be worth it. Pampers not included, so I’m going to pass.

Unilever-get $5 when you spend $15. Depending on what coupons come this Sunday, this could be a good deal. And Ben & Jerry’s is included, which it isn’t always included even though it’s Unilever now. I will be doing this deal because I have the $1 off 1 Skippys from the Safeway booklet. Prices:
Ragu 3 for 5
Skippy 3 for 5
Lipton 2 for 5
B&J 2 for 6
Hellmanns 2 for 6

Brita filter replacements (we use these) are 14.99 with $5 back in ECB. Go here to get a $2 IP.

Physician’s Formula is spend $10, get $7 back in ECB. Look for peelies with mail-in-rebate forms on them. I saw them on the PF stuff at Rite Aid. $7 is good return on a $10 purchase, and then you can submit your receipt for a rebate.

Revlon Custom Eyes is 7.99 with $2 back. Hopefully when you scan your card you’ll get a $5 off any 2 Revlon, use that + $1 insert coupons from last week. Find a cheap clearance item for your second item and score some cheap makeup.

Page 14 of ad has big buy one get one 50% sale for lots of meds (all Wyeth, it appears). You can use a coupon on both items. There are lots of Advil coupons coming this Sunday. I need children’s advil! Or go here for printables.

Those are the things I’m going to focus on.

Both Walgreen’s & CVS are also running Dove & other Unilever product deals, I may check those out later in the week, for my Wednesday morning outing.

Keep in mind, if you’re one of the first ones out Sunday morning, you run the risk of glitches and deals not working–by Sunday evening, if they are happening, it’s all over the web chat boards. I’ll keep you posted.

CVS trip this week; Beauty Club, CRT & more

I had to pick up an Rx at CVS and when I did, my $5 in Extra Bucks for $50 worth of beauty purchases came out. This means it’s delayed–you may not get it during the transaction that takes you over the $50. I know because I did mine last week and was expecting it. I didn’t get it, even though I was positive I had crossed $50 and it was on my list to call CVS about it. No need, just be patient and you’ll get it.

I also got a CRT coupon (at bottom of my receipt coupon, stands for Cash Register Tape coupon) for $5 off any 2 Revlon products. Used that with two 4.99 nail polishes. Used the $5 CRT, plus two $1 Revlon coupons. Paid $3 with previous Extra Bucks, got $4 back for purchasing $10 worth of Revlon.

Newark Road store still has plenty of $1.49 laundry detergent if you’re looking for it. I am unable to find the $0.50 Mars items they’ve advertised.
