Sesame Place-Open for the 2012 season!

Our family has been season pass holders at Sesame Place for the past three years.  So as you can imagine we were thrilled when the opportunity came to be there opening day for the 2012 season. I have two boys, ages 4 and 5 and Sesame Place is one of their favorite places to be.  At least once a week, regardless of the season I am asked “Can we go to Sesame Place today?”

Regardless of how many times we have been it is still new and exciting to our children.  The weather was a little chilly and cloudy but to our surprise all of the water rides were open and staffed with lifeguards.  I however did not see a single adult or child taking advantage of the water activities.

The characters were seen along Sesame Street and were readily available to greet the children and for photo ops.  This is one of my favorite things about Sesame Place.  The Sesame Street characters are always available for the children to see whether it be in the parade, a show or when you encounter them while walking on “Sesame Street.”

We watched the Elmo Live show that was about dancing. My older son was chose to be a part of the show and was able to dance alongside Elmo during the show.  We also watched a new show that was added this season called “Let’s Play Together.”  This show featured most of the Sesame Street characters as they sang and talked about what friends do together.  Our evening ended with the Sesame Street parade and one last ride on Grover’s roller coaster.

If you have never been or are considering returning to Sesame Place I would recommend for any family that has children under the age of 6.  I feel that in order to get the most of out of your experience that you need to experience it all.  This includes doing rides, walking around to meet and take pictures with the Sesame Street characters, attending the shows and watching the parade.  Another bonus is that Sesame Place allows you to bring a cooler into the park.  This is great for packing a lunch or drinks for your family to enjoy during your stay.

I was compensated with free passes to the park in exchange for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.
