ACME: Ben and Jerry’s Double Dip

YUM! I am so sorry. My week got really crazy and I didn’t get a chance to post. So, in case you missed it, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream is on double dip this week.

Here’s my suggestion.

Buy 3 Ben and Jerry’s
Buy 1 Starbucks ice cream – use a .50/1 or 1.00/1 Starbucks coupon (in June inserts. People got them different weeks)

Pay $11

Get $4 OYNO for buying 4 items on the list on the front right of the ad.
Get $2 OYNO for buying 3 or more Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
The Catalina machine also printed off $1.50/4
Rinse and repeat?

I use to love Bovinity Divinity as a teenager. Since it earned a spot in the Graveyard (WHY???) I have switched to Phish Food. I also love Bonaroo Buzz and Karmal Sutra (sp.?) I only get Ben and Jerry’s about once a year but for this price I am stocking up. How is this for willpower? I had one spoonful since I bought it Friday.

What’s your favorite Ben and Jerry’s flavor? Is it still in existence or did it go to the Graveyard?

Cheap Summer Movies (Kid Friendly)

Beat the heat and have some summer fun for just a few dollars! Regal Theaters is once again having their Summer Movie Express.  At select Regal theaters you can get into the theater for $1. All movies are G or PG and play on Tuesday and Wednesdays at 10 AM.

Check out the link above to see where they are playing near you. Once at the website you can choose what theater you want to go to and it will tell you what movies are playing on what days. The tickets are only available at the window.

The downside is they are first come, first serve, so make sure you get there a little early. The movies playing are not brand new by any means but they usually have a younger kid option and an older kid option and for $1, I don’t mind taking the kids to see an “older but favorite” show. Plus, if you have already seen the movie it is still fun to get to see it on big screen occasionally. I can’t wait to take the kids to see Kung fu Panda 2. That has got to be good on big screen.

If you have several theaters near you, check them all out because each theater plays different movies. I am really excited about this because while we use to need to drive 30 minutes to a movie theater, we now live about THREE MILES from one. SWEET! I can’t wait to take advantage of this deal because $4 to take the kids to the movies doesn’t come around just any day. It only comes 9 weeks in the summer.

Review + Grocery Card Sweepstakes: Lehigh Valley Dairy

I know. I did a review for Lehigh Valley Dairy not so long ago. BUT, did you know they just came out with new packaging for their milk? If you haven’t seen it yet their new bottles are white rather than see through. They call this new packaging “Pure Protect Bottles”. Why would they need new bottles, and why did they make them white instead of clear?

The experts (Not me. I’m no expert.) say that light can alter the flavor of milk in as little as TWO HOURS.  I did not know that.   Lehigh Valley Dairy gave me some free product to try out and I think I need to give it a few more tries to see if I notice a consistent difference. However, add this to the fact that Lehigh Valley Dairy  only buys milk from farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones,  will not use milk that tests positive for known antibiotics,  and makes sure the cows their milk comes form are fed a nutritious diet, and I am a much happier consumer of store bought milk.

Have you ever noticed a difference in your milk? Have you tried the new packaging and noticed?

PLUS, from now until Labor Day, Lehigh Valley Dairy will be giving away 1 – $100 grocery card PER WEEK! Enter HERE for your chance to win.   Lehigh Valley Dairy is also on FACEBOOK. If you want to stop by and thank them for this great giveaway, I am sure they would love to hear from you.
